Recognizing Departing Legislators for Leadership in Health

The California Wellness Foundation recognizes the 2008 Public Policy Leadership Award honorees: Senator Sheila Kuehl and Senator Jack Scott. The Foundation thanks these legislators for their dedication to the health of underserved Californians and for their extraordinary leadership in the public policy arena.

These honorees have influenced millions of lives through their efforts to advance policies that promote the health of underserved Californians.

Senator Sheila Kuehl
Senate District 23, Los Angeles and Ventura Counties
Sen. Kuehl is being recognized for her efforts to promote women's health, prevent violence and expand health care access to underserved Californians.

Senator Jack Scott
Senate District 21, Los Angeles County
Sen. Scott is being recognized for his efforts to prevent violence against youth and develop the health care workforce by expanding access to higher education.
